Back to 2012

Okay.  I'm back in present day.  I wanted to get all of Drew's old posts moved over here before I lost them on my old website.  Sorry about all the random posts.

I went to another Dr. today.  It's crazy in February I have been to the dentist for my cleaning, back again to have a filling fixed, to my OB for my annual visit, to CVS for a possible ear infection, to the Dr. today for my "ear" issue, to the dentist for Drew's first visit, to quick care for an ear infection for Drew, to emergency care for Kara's dislocated arm, and to the pediatrician for lip trauma for Kara.  Ugh.  It has not been a fun month for me.  I am sick of Dr's and waiting rooms with 2 little kids!!!  What's shocking is that none of us picked up anything from the actual Dr's office.  I was sure Drew would get sick.  Though hubby did have strep throat so maybe we brought it home to him.

Anyway back to today's visit.  The Dr was very nice and listened to me.  He said I have psoriasis on my scalp that's why it's tight and itchy and dry.  He said I have a spot of eczema on my back, that's why it's red and rough and dry and he said he has no clue about the swelling behind my ear.  He wants me to try a netti pot for a week and call him back.  At first he suggested that I take some type of steroid but ruled that out since I am nursing Kara and she doesn't drink from a bottle, though she will drink from a cup.  So I'm going to go buy a netti pot and try it.  If in a week the swelling isn't down he wants me to go have a CT scan of my head.  I did ask him why all of a sudden it feels like I'm falling apart.  Why would eczema, psoriasis, and the mystery lump all show up at once?  He did say it really honestly could be hormonal from the pregnancy, especially since my body got all out of whack after Drew was born it's not surprising it would do it again.  I just wish I knew what was going on and I wish I could find a Dr that doesn't want to just throw drugs at the symptoms.  If I have a headache and swelling don't tell me to take an anti-inflammatory, actually figure out WHY I have a headache and swelling.  I get the feeling Dr's don't learn how to diagnose and treat the whole body.  I am a whole person, look at the big picture!

  1. How frustrating. I'll be praying that you will get some wise answers soon. I totally agree with you about treating the "Whole Body". I am tagging you in a blog post that I just posted! Be sure to have a look!
